Location route: India>>Andhra Pradesh>>Kadapa>>Jammalamadugu>>Gandikota

Planning your visit to one of the most famous Forts i.e. Gandikota Fort, here are the few details that might be helpful for you.Gandikota Fort is a ancient fort of Rayalaseema, which was ruled by  Vijayanagar emperor
Golkonda Nawabs,  etc and finally by Pemmasani Nayaks. Golkonda is known for it's architecture. It is located near Jammalamadugu in Kadapa distrct in Andhra Paradesh state, India. The place i visit often because i am located near that place called mylavaram, which is 8km from Jammalamadugu. There is a      dam called mylavaram dam (actually it's the Penna river) which combines the two beautiful Places Gandikota Fort and  Agastheswara Kona, which is the holy place in highness of Lord Siva. You can find the beautiful scenes near the fort and u can plan your Trek as well. It's a nice place for trekking. and in the seasons u can find waterfalls on the Fort area. Several movies have been shot here. Here are few images that depicts the Gandikota Fort.

Once there were 28 villages around the fort. After the Kingdom vanished, the flooded water from Thungabadra and Penna has took these villages, and a new village has established called 'Mylavaram' , which is my natve place and a reservoir has been built on the flooded water, which is called Mylavaram dam
